The Weirdo

The day dreamers guide to the universe.

Do any of us, except in our dreams, truly expect to be reunited with our hearts’ deepest loves, even when they leave us only for minutes, and on the most mundane of errands? No, not at all. Each time they go from our sight we in our secret hearts count them as dead. Having been given so much, we reason, how could we expect not to be brought as low as Lucifer for the staggering presumption of our love?

Dear Dakota,

Sweet little babe,

please stay this age,

where new begins

are in every directions

and for you i only have the best of expectations.

Learning how to walk,

talk,

what not to eat

who to greet,

spring is in the a

and summer not too far

you’ll see the world for the first time

in your big girl eyes.

Your sweet innocence

so fragile

so beautiful

with you little monkey ears

i worry about you,

Dakota with no fears.

My advice to you

take your mama by the hand

and hold on to it as tight as you can.

You’ve gotten the man of my dreams,

beaten me in intelligence,

happiness,

and writing ability

but you will never know my jealousy.

Your too good,

so much life

so innocent

my cynical corrupted mind

is not even fathomable for the likes of your kind.

I cant even dislike you

but i suppose admire your charm

with a healthy bit of jealousy.
